Each year our Chamberlain students with disabilities participate in Special Olympics hosted at Gaither. It’s a district wide event. The cost is $15 per student. The students train for their events in track and field to prepare for the big day. Unfortunately, deserving students would miss out if they can’t pay the fee to participate. Each year, our students do so well and bring home many medals. It’s a real competition for our students with disabilities. Each student has a buddy who helps them with their event. Our general education students volunteer their time to support their peers with special needs as part of the Best Friends and Buddies.
